They say that you shouldn’t work with animals but we totally disagree!
The fun tongue-in-cheek event was designed to help punters determine the name and sex of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s second Royal Baby ahead of its arrival next month.
The Ladbrokes Barkingham Palace Gold Cup took place at Bloomsbury’s prestigious Bedford Square. Each corgi taking part shared a name with those speculated to be the name of the future Royal Baby. Front runners Elizabeth (5/1) and James (8/1) made it into the group alongside outsiders Camilla (100/1) and Boris (200/1).
Hot favourite Alexandra won the race leaving the other corgis eating her dust and any speculation to rest.
Sketch had so much fun producing the Ladbrokes Barkingham Palace Gold Cup, sourcing the venue and 10 wonderful corgis for such a distinguished affair was just the tip of the iceberg. We also had the task of creating the authentic racetrack including the traps, winners podium, branding and the cute custom-made race jackets which made sure the corgis really looked the part.
On race day the sketch team managed all aspects of the set build and race logistics ensuring that the day ran smoothly and the vital footage for the viral video was captured by Kaper.
The results of the campaign have exceeded expectations with the quirky video going viral in a major way. Our little corgis made appearances on Good Morning America and featured in 9 national publications. The You Tube video has had 360,000 views in 4 days and this number continues to climb.
All that’s left to say is…..Corgi’s – we salute you and we’re off to Ladbrokes to place our bet!Tags: Alexandra, Barkingham Palace, Barkingham Palace Gold Cup, Bedford Sqaure, Corgi, Corgi Race, Duchess of Cambridge, Duke of Cambridge, Kaper, Kate Middleton, Ladbrokes, Prince William, Royal Baby
