Nationwide: NationFried

NationFried is a student-focused food and culture pop-up, delivered by Nationwide Student Banking in collaboration with The Romans. We supported the project from pre-event preparation through to live delivery, helping bring the Nationfried fusion concept to life through a fully branded environment, playful food-led details, custom merchandise and an evening of live entertainment.

The Objective

The brief was to bring Nationfried back for a third time, but this time with a fusion restaurant concept – creating an engaging physical experience for Nationwide’s student audience.

The pop-up needed to feel energetic, unexpected and distinctly student-focused, combining Nationwide’s new student banking proposition with the personality of Nationfried. Food was at the centre of the experience, with the space designed to feel like more than a traditional pop-up – giving guests plenty to see, interact with, eat and take away.

The Solution

We delivered the production and on-site operation of the Nationfried Fusion pop-up, translating the campaign into a fully immersive environment where every detail tied back to the fusion food concept.

The branding ran throughout the space, from posters and props to bespoke packaging and signage. Outside, the venue was completely transformed with fully vinyl-wrapped signage, creating a strong visual presence before guests had even stepped inside. Inside, mirrors, lighting and branded details helped build out the environment, while the tables were given a Nationwide twist, styled to look like oversized new student bank cards.

The food experience continued the fusion theme with a menu designed to surprise guests. Chicken fry sliders, butter chicken pizza and chow mein burritos put unexpected spins on familiar favourites, while dual slushies, ice cream and fries added to the playful, indulgent feel of the menu.

We also helped bring the Nationfried merchandise to life, with illustrated printed T-shirts, branded chopsticks and locked lunchboxes adding tangible takeaways to the experience. These details extended the campaign beyond the food itself, giving guests something memorable to wear, use and share.

The evening was brought to life further by influencers Max Khadar and Chloe Burrows, who joined guests in the kitchen and got involved with the live cooking. Their presence added an extra layer of energy to the pop-up, helping create the informal, social atmosphere the experience was designed around.

Running from 6–9pm, the result was a fully branded food and culture experience that combined Nationwide’s student offering with the playful world of Nationfried, bringing together distinctive design, unexpected food, custom merchandise and live entertainment in one Hoxton pop-up.
