Mastercard x BRITS: The Digital Junction

To celebrate 25 years of Mastercard’s headline sponsorship of the BRIT Awards, they launched an event showcasing a new wave of talent coming through in the world of performing arts.

‘The Digital Junction’ was a tech-focused music event concept that was brought to us by Talker Tailor Trouble Maker. The idea that needed to be brought to life was a hi-tech performance showcase that celebrated Mastercard’s 25th consecutive year of BRAIT Awards sponsorship. The night saw performances from VNCCII (a digital avatar!), Michael Rice (represented Great Britain in Eurovision 2019) and some of BRIT school’s finest young talents.

The event took place at a brand-new venue, called the Lower Third, and was live-streamed to a public audience who could share comments and reactions as the night went on. We set the space up with a large LED wall and 2x portrait support screens. These displayed custom video content and the chat section from the live feed, enabling artists and audience to see how well the event was perceived on the outside world.

As part of the set-up, we installed an immersive lighting display around the venue and amongst the crowd. These lights were programmed to react to the audio of the performances and bring the music to life in a way that many will have never seen before!

All audiovisual equipment set-up was managed by Sketch and we also had a team of show directors and technicians to ensure the night ran smoothly. Also in there team were 2 brand ambassadors who greeted guests on arrival and gave them a little more detail on what the night was all about.
