Our good friends at Every Can Counts briefed us to come up with an installation concept that would highlight the infinitely recyclable nature of aluminium and launch Recycle Week 2024 with an impactful way…
‘The Infinity Sculpture’ is a bespoke built 4m x 2.5m installation that mimics the shape of the infinity symbol. Each section of the sculpture represents a different phase of the drinks can recycling process and how they each lead into each other to create an infinite cycle – from a colourful drinks can, to be crushed and melted down into aluminium, reproduced into a plain can then finally back to the drinks cans we see on our shelves every day.
A total of 1,294 cans were used to complete this installation, which was supported by bespoke-made recycling bins that were made to look like giant drinks cans. Visitors could use these bins to recycle their cans there and then. We also produced and installed two educational totems, complete with plenty of information about the campaign message.
The installation was installed at Piccadilly Circus and was live for the full 5 days of recycle week. Be sure to keep an eye out, as it may be coming to a city near you very soon…
