English Heritage Giant Knight

Sketch recently had the pleasure of working with English Heritage on a superb project to promote St George’s Day 2015.

We were asked to construct a 15ft giant knight on horse back which was erected at Wellington Arch in central London on the eve of St George’s Day.

The equestrian statue of the giant knight was dressed in a full suit of Armour, holding the St George’s Cross on a flag pole whilst riding a horse dressed in red & white dressage.

The impressive statue was initially unveiled in Wellington Arch for St Georges Day  before being transported around various English Heritage sites across the United Kingdom to promote various jousting tournaments taking place over 2015.

Members of the public were encouraged to take selfies with the knight and post them on social media with the hashtag #knightfever . This has proved hugely popular at all the destinations it has visited thus far.

The PR stunt received coverage throughout the UK with features in The Telegraph, The Independant, The Evening Standard, City AMITV Anglia and on BBC’s Three Counties & Radio Oxford stations.

The giant knight will be visiting various English Heritage locations throughout the summer including Wrest Park, Kenilworth Castle, Carisbrooke Castle & Pendennis Castle.
