There is no doubt that January is the most depressing month of the year. The first few weeks of the working year have been cold, wet and miserable. Then add to the mix that we are expected to replace alcohol with green smoothies for the whole month 🙁
However, the events industry has taken it upon itself to cure the general public of the dreaded January Blues by creating positive, motivating & cheerful events. Here are a few of our faves that made getting out of bed just that little bit more worth it…
Warner Bros Creed Launch
To promote the new film and Rocky sequel, Creed, Warner Bros set about employing a brass band to greet commuters at the Chancery Lane Underground station in London with the Rocky theme tune. BUT the band didn’t start playing for any old commuter! In order for the band to play the iconic tune commuters had to tackle the stairs rather than take the easy escalator option.
As well as the music, stair takers were cheered on by gym-gear & headband clad motivators with many high fives awarded.

Sky 1 Lucky Man Vending Machine
#LuckyMan vending machines were installed in London’s Waterloo, Manchester Piccadilly, Birmingham New Street and Glasgow Central. People were asked to tweet a picture of themselves using the #TryYourLuck hashtag to release a prize from the machines. With more than 3500 lucky prizes across all machines, prizes were dispensed to the lucky winners spreading cheer far & wide.
Prizes ranging from chocolate bars, to iPads and £1000 cash prize.

Cadbury’s Creme Egg Cafe
Cadbury’s sent delightful shock waves through social media channels last week when they released details of their three-floor Cadbury’s Creme Egg Cafe. The creme egg cafe, complete with ball pool, opened in London’s Soho and has a menu entirely devoted to the gooey treats! Hooray!
It’s menu comprises of ridiculous and amazing dishes such as Creme Egg toasties, Creme Egg chocolate cake and Creme Egg with soldiers. Crazy but brilliant at the same time! The bonkers restaurants floors are comprised of a ground floor offering takeaway, the first floor with more of a restaurant vibe and is then finished with a ball pool for serious revelers.
Tickets sold out instantly, but there’s limited room for walk-ins each day for those willing to queue – which seriously does happen.
Overall the general public across the land were pleased with their lot, whether it be a packet of Parma Violets, a Cadbury”s creme egg toastie or enough cash for a holiday!
